Welcome to Random Thoughts Help Index. Here you will find all the help documents provided by Random Thoughts Entertainment, as well as links to outside sources of information. This first page is devoted to helping you get set up to run java applets with your web browser.
System Requirements Because Java is an interpretted computer language, the games and programs written in it will require greater processing power than may have been necessary if the programs were written in a more traditional binary language. The benefit of an interpreted language is that our games will run not only on Microsoft Windows, but Linux and MacOS as well. Most of our games run at 640x480 resolution or lower, but because of browser windows and status bars, we recommend at least 800x600 resolution to play our games.
Web Browser To insure the proper display of HTML as well as optimal compatibility with Sun Microsystem's Java Plugin, we recommend a browser running under the Mozilla Public License (such as Netscape or Opera) when viewing this site.
Java Plugin Much of the content of this site requires Sun Microsystem's Java plugin. This is the program that interprets the Java programs and runs them in your web browser. If you find that some of our games work and others do not, please make sure you have the most recent version installed.
Please Note Because Java Applets are programs, it can take a few minutes for the games on this website to download on slower internet connections. The gray square is normal.
