Here is a complete list of the creatures you will more than likely start out fighting. If you run across a creature early in your travels that is neither human nor listed here, retreat is advisable. Unless you are a fool, in which case proceed.
Goblin Spearman
Goblins are sneaky creatures preferring to attack from range if possible. Although not hard hiting, goblins quickly bcome dangerous in numbers. Goblins should be a low priority when choosing targets.
Goblin Archer
Goblins are sneaky creatures preferring to attack from range if possible. Armed with a bow, goblins will often run away from the dangers of hand to hand combat choosing instead to take shots at long range.
Minion
Considered to be little more than dangerous vermin, minions are a surprisingly clever race. Standing about knee high, minions prefer to poke furiously at their enemies from a small distance, and often employ warforks.
Skeleton
The reanimated dead of fallen warriors, skeletons are the weakest monster an apprentice Cleric of the Raven or necromancer can send your way. Skeletons strike hard but have very low defense, so should be killed quickly.
Giant Spider
A very tough natural enemy, the Giant Spider is most often found in the forests of Thalasirmon. The ability to fly along with strong pincers make spiders an agile and dangerous foe.
Bandit
Many warriors turn aside from the noble role of mercenary and become little more than thieves and bandits robbing innocent victims of their gold and possessions. Bandits should be dealt with quickly.
Bob
The bob is an incredibly tough and mishcevious opponent. Bobs are best avoided at first, as they can easily destroy a starting band single handedly. Warded items are the best known strategy for disposing of these monsters.
War Dog
The war dog is not a very common or very dangerous enemy. Without the ability to attack at range they are easily killed by archers before ever closing with a mercenary party.
Sewer Scourge
The Sewer Scourge are so named because they inhabit the sewers of the larger cities. Looking like a small humanoid rat, the scourge prefer attacking at long range. More dangerous than goblins, scourge should be approached with caution.
Slime
Slimes are little more than mindless blobs of jelly which will attack those nearby. Slimes have a high defense, but their offensive power is sorely lacking. Most armor can block an attack from a slime, and they are a low priority enemy.
This is, of course, only a small amount of the monsters that may be encountered over the course of the game. Always use extreme caution when confronting a new monster for the first time.
